DENMARK

• "Bekendtgørelse nr. 142 om det frekvenspolitiske rammemandat" (Executive order number 142 on a radio frequency policy mandate), adopted 3 March 2004, in Danish. This transposes EU Directives 2002/20/EC and 2002/21/EC with regard to radio frequencies, setting a policy framework for the National IT and Telecommunications Agency. A brief summary of Denmark's strategy for regulating short range devices and wireless local networks is on page 4.
• "Executive Order on the Use of Radio Frequencies Without a Licence and on Radio Examinations and Call Signs etc." (Executive Order No. 29 of 21 January 2004) in English: radios aboard aircraft operating on aeronautical mobile frequencies are delicensed even though Danish operators may still apply for callsigns. The Order also specifies frequencies - including many assigned to the amateur, amateur satellite, Citizen Band, cordless telephone, DECT, short-range device, remote control, railway and maritime mobile services - which can be used without a license.
• Act on Radio Frequencies: Act No. 421 of 6 June 2002 and Associated Executive Orders (updated 19 February 2003), in English.
• "Executive Order No. 295 of 7 May 2002, amending the Executive Order on Frequency Use etc. without an Individual Licence" (in English). Among other things, this de-licensed RLANs in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
• "Act on Radio Equipment and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment and Electromagnetic Matters" (in English) - Act No. 232 of 5 April 2000 and Associated Executive Orders (updated 25 Febraury 2002)
• "More WiFi Access in Denmark," press release via NewsLib. 3 October 2006: "Denmark's Sonofon is offering its mobile customers access to 500 new hot spots at, among other places, hotels and airports across the country. • The Centre for Software Defined Radio at Aalborg University, founded in 2006: "Being funded as a Regional Technology Centre, CSDR's main objective is to bridge the gap between research environments and industrial sites, in particular Danish SMEs' potential for adopting new technologies, methods, and processes as related to SDR."
